Born in Austria and Bulgaria respectively, Alexander Rhomberg and Daniel Danov met each other during their undergraduate studies in Technology & Management at the Technical University in Munich. Having chosen a specialization in Computer Science they encountered the processes of analyzing and evaluating Data early on in their studies. In autumn 2020 they had the chance to temporarily be a part of Celonis to conduct a joint research project with their university.
During the last few months, we had the extraordinary opportunity to extend the standard curriculum of our area of study by practical project studies in collaboration with Celonis. The goal was to analyze and develop further use-cases for Celonis newest innovation, the
Execution Apps, in the area of finance. We therefore first conducted a thorough analysis of the potential of Process Mining Solutions in finance, then developed a holistic use-case for such an application, and finally implemented our accumulated knowledge in the prototype of that Execution Application.
The Celonis Academic Alliance made it possible for us to take a deep dive into the technology of Process Mining, through exciting and extensive training to deepen our knowledge about it and to gain the Process Mining Expert certification as future proof of our acquired expertise. Furthermore, we had the chance to access all of Celonis newest tools, including being some of the first students to get our hands on the brand new Celonis Studio, which helped us tremendously in creating our application.
Throughout the whole project we received great support from the supervising team, we had the chance to talk to people from the various Celonis offices spread around the world and to get feedback from departments ranging from sales to product- and software development. We are now after this project more than ever convinced that using Process Mining will play a key role in the future positive development of any company and that Celonis - as the technology leader - provides the best opportunities for curious students to explore its possibilities.
