Michael Arias

The world of Process Mining has been growing over the past few years. During my doctoral studies at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, I had the opportunity to learn about Process Mining, both its application in academia and industry. Without a doubt, learning more about business process management and data science, and using Process Mining to bridge the gap between both disciplines has changed my life.

After returning to Costa Rica, we started the collaboration between Celonis and the University of Costa Rica in the Business Informatics career at the Western Campus. The Celonis Academic Alliance has led me to bring students closer to technology with the ability to maximize the performance of business processes in organizations, access training courses, workshops, case studies, videos, and conferences such as Celesphere and the Celonis Worldtour. This has allowed students to take on important challenges such as the Business Process Intelligence Challenge (BPIC) and process intelligence projects.

In my research, I have been able to use Celonis in different domains such as resource management, project management, healthcare, and education. Celonis has empowered my projects and inspired me to guide the education of the next generation.

Celonis Academic Alliance is a key stakeholder in our domain. I will continue taking advantage of the platform, the training material and all instructor and student benefits. Additionally, I will continue using Celonis as part of my research projects, being part of the academic community and using the support that Celonis provides to researchers around the globe throughout our Process Mining journey.
