The future of business operations is AI-driven and composable, but tools alone do not create results–processes do. Organizations today are chasing a Return on AI (RoAI), but often hit roadblocks while looking to achieve that goal. As Dan Brown, Chief Product Officer at Celonis said, “A new interface doesn’t replace the need for an intelligence layer underneath." To move from hype to measurable value, AI needs process intelligence to serve as its operational brain, providing the real-world context necessary to perform.

To help business leaders bridge this gap and industrialize Enterprise AI, we are launching Celonis:NOW–a quarterly briefing designed for you to know what’s next, right now.

In just 15-minutes, we pack six months of innovation into a 15-minute deep drive demonstrating how process intelligence can optimize business operations. In the video below, Celonis product leaders, Stefan Schmidt, VP of Product Management, and Mohamed Karous, Sr. Director of Product Marketing, pull back the curtain on the technology making the "autonomous enterprise" a reality. Watch as they follow a data point’s evolution from the Data Core through the Process Intelligence Graph and into Agentic Orchestration.

The following is a transcript of the conversation between Stefan Schmidt and Mohamed Karous, edited for readability.

MOHAMED: Hello and welcome to Celonis:NOW — a quick catch-up on the exciting new innovations to the Process Intelligence Platform over the past months. You can expect these updates every quarter, to help get you up to speed on our latest Platform releases and the benefits they bring to you.

STEFAN: The releases we’re talking about today are across all layers of our platform. We’ll start at the foundation, Data Core, then move into the Process Intelligence Graph, and finish with the Build Experience. I’m Stefan, VP of Product Management here at Celonis.

MOHAMED: And I’m Mo, Celonis’ Sr. Director of Product Marketing. And since you’re busy, we’ll keep this short.

STEFAN: First up: Data Core.

MOHAMED: Can you give a quick recap on Data Core?

STEFAN: Well, as we know, data is the foundation of everything we do. And Data Core is the high-performance data infrastructure of the Celonis platform. Built for true enterprise speed and scale. It lets you extract and transform data from any source and query billions of records rapidly, scaling seamlessly to the largest enterprise volumes. Delivering the fastest, most consistent end-to-end load times in the industry, it’s up to 20x more powerful than alternatives.

MOHAMED: Data Core became generally available to customers this past Celosphere, and we’ve since introduced a variety of new innovations to the layer. But today, I want to highlight my standout - which is our new Delta Sharing option. This helps customers more seamlessly get data to Celonis from their data platforms like Databricks, Jira, and Microsoft Fabric.

STEFAN: One benefit of native Delta Sharing connections is zero-copy data access. Customers can now save time and cost by accessing their raw data directly at the source rather than duplicating it over. And any updates made on the data platform side are reflected instantly in Celonis.

MOHAMED: Our Delta Sharing Connections also benefit customers with a more simplified setup. Instead of creating complex extraction pipelines, they can now connect their instances once to start consuming data immediately. As a result, configuring a data pipeline takes just a few minutes.

STEFAN: Designed to make it faster and easier to query data into Celonis, native Delta Sharing connections help embed Celonis more deeply into our customers’ IT landscapes — so they can get more value from their existing technology investments.

MOHAMED: Let’s move on to what’s new in the heart of our platform, our Process Intelligence Graph.

STEFAN: That’s where Celonis combines your data AND enriches it with your unique business context to give you a living digital twin of your business operations. The PI Graph is system-agnostic, unbiased, and dynamic.

MOHAMED: And it provides the operational context your AI needs to succeed.

STEFAN: The first step to using the PI Graph is modelling your raw source system data into common definitions of different objects and events. This typically takes time and requires deep system knowledge.

MOHAMED: But with the release of our new AI-powered Data Modeling & Transformation Assistants, this process is now easier and faster.

STEFAN: The Data Modeling Assistant recommends objects, events, attributes, and relationships based on your intended use case and available data.

MOHAMED: And The Transformation Assistant uses context such as the object name, attribute name, or the source system as inputs to generate a custom SQL transformation script.

STEFAN: These assistants help customers in a few ways.

MOHAMED: First, they can model faster from a specific use case. Customers simply input their unique business scenario and get a recommended object and event model — complete with the right attributes and relationships.

STEFAN: They also help by auto-generating transformation scripts. With AI, customers can instantly create and refine SQL code for custom or extended objects and events.

MOHAMED: And finally, they help customers make adjustments much easier. Using the assistant’s chat functionality, customers can continuously refine their output, while version history and previews make it easy to track changes and guide improvements.

STEFAN: The Data Modeling and Transformation assistants ultimately provide a more guided and effective way for customers to go from raw data to building their PI Graph.

MOHAMED: After pulling together your data from multiple systems into one unified, object-centric data model, the next step is enriching it with your unique business context to create a living digital twin of your operations.

STEFAN: Think process models, business rules, benchmarks, and KPIs.

MOHAMED: And now, to make it simpler and more convenient for organizations to enrich their data with unique business context, we’re introducing two new features.

STEFAN: The first is a new AI-driven metrics recommender.

MOHAMED: And the second is a broad set of benchmarks which allow customers to compare their performance against their peers and are industry specific.

STEFAN: The AI-driven metrics recommender is one of my favorite new releases. Now in Private Preview in Studio, it enables customers to generate AI-recommended metrics when creating or editing object-centric event logs in their Knowledge Model.

MOHAMED: What does this mean?

STEFAN: It means customers can now have AI suggest relevant, domain-specific KPIs for them to monitor for any given process. And they can save these metrics to the Knowledge Model, meaning they can be used for any analysis, apps, or automations. The result is a much easier way to grasp which KPIs are relevant when building object-centric event logs.

MOHAMED: While it’s one thing to understand how process performance is trending internally, it’s another to grasp how that performance stacks up externally. This leads us to our next release: Celonis Process Benchmarking.

STEFAN: Now - customers can compare their processes to their peers and focus on what to do to get best-in-class. Using benchmarks built on anonymized, aggregated real process data from Celonis customers – and certified by The Hackett Group - who is a leader in this type of thing.

MOHAMED: This means teams can, first, better prioritize their initiatives. By quantifying how far off they are from industry-leading performance, they can better pinpoint where to focus resources to deliver the most value.

STEFAN: They can also accelerate transformation decisions. With trusted benchmarks embedded directly in Celonis, leaders can quickly rally stakeholders around a shared, objective view of opportunity — and move from insight to action.

MOHAMED: Celonis Process Benchmarking gives our customers the clear, external context they need to set the right performance targets and improve where it matters most. We’ve covered Data Core and the PI Graph, now let’s move onto updates to the Build Experience.

STEFAN: But first, a quick rundown. The PI Graph gives AI what it needs to succeed. But to get Industrialized Enterprise AI, you also need to identify the right use cases, redesign your processes to integrate AI, and orchestrate AI alongside your people and existing automations.

MOHAMED: The Celonis Build Experience gives you these capabilities in a low-code, AI-assisted experience. It’s where you can: Analyze, Design, and Operate composable, AI-driven processes to solve your biggest business challenges. Let’s start with Analyze.

STEFAN: Our Analyze Capabilities enable customers to understand how their operations run across systems and processes, helping them do things like discover where to strategically deploy AI solutions.

MOHAMED: And our new releases now help them do this faster. Updates including new View components and Process Explorer enhancements are designed to reduce the amount of time customers spend configuring dashboards or navigating complex process visualizations. And improve their ability to identify relevant KPIs, bottlenecks, and insights.

STEFAN: Let’s take a closer look at these improvements, which are all live in Celonis today — starting with the new KPI Meter. This element makes it easy to see how KPIs are performing at a glance, using bullet charts and color coding to show whether targets are being hit.

MOHAMED: The Date Picker lets customers interactively refine analyses — no dashboard rebuilding necessary. Adjust date ranges with variables, and Views update instantly without manual reconfiguration.

STEFAN: And the new KPI-based coloring and event grouping capabilities in Process Explorer and Variant Explorer let customers hide or group together irrelevant activities for a cleaner graph and a sharper, more focused analysis.

MOHAMED: Our new Transformation Hub is also now available in Private Preview.

STEFAN: The Transformation Hub is where quantifying the business impact of all Celonis efforts takes place, and we’re now introducing a centralized command center for customers to track, verify, and report the P&L impact of their AI and transformation initiatives.

MOHAMED: Our goal here is to provide our customers with greater visibility into their realized value to better prove AI ROI and prioritize transformation initiatives that are high-impact.

STEFAN: What do the new features to the Transformation Hub look like?

MOHAMED: With the release of KPI Snapshots, customers can now capture KPI values over time and attribute impact across dimensions, including business unit, region, or initiative - this feature is native in views.

STEFAN: New tailored views in the Transformation Hub also support executive reporting, while custom reports and deep dives keep customers aligned to leadership and governance needs.

MOHAMED: Altogether, customers can better tie opportunities to real and measurable outcomes – closing the loop between opportunity identification and measurable business impact. With our design capabilities, you can re-design your future-state operations based on the insights you uncover during Analysis.

STEFAN: That means defining outcomes, guardrails, and the right AI insertion points — all with the help of best-practice guidelines.

MOHAMED: And we’ve recently made process modeling itself smoother, faster, and easier.

STEFAN: It starts with enhancements to our Canvas app. With features like subprocess navigation, multi-select for bulk edits, improved SVG export, and overall UI improvements, teams can redesign processes in Canvas more efficiently than ever.

MOHAMED: One of the most powerful things you can do with Design is compare your ‘as-is’ process to your desired ‘to-be’ process. But that only works if your future state is modeled correctly. That’s why we introduced BPMN model repair for Process Adherence Manager, or PAM. It reduces manual work by automatically spotting common modeling mistakes – like duplicates or missing events, tags, or names — and fixing them, so adherence tracking can keep running smoothly.

STEFAN: Lastly, we’ve made it more seamless to bring BPMN models from Process Designer into PAM. As a result, organizations can track performance more accurately against their ‘to-be’ process models, creating a tighter continuous improvement loop. With your blueprint in hand, the next and final question is: how do you put it into action?

MOHAMED: That’s Operate, where you execute your new processes end-to-end with Orchestration Engine, a core integrated capability of the Celonis platform.

STEFAN: Made generally available this past Celosphere, OE ensures you get the most out of the old and new of your tech stack by coordinating agents, people, and systems in real time.

MOHAMED: And with two new integrations between Orchestration Engine and Action Flows, connecting orchestrations and automations is now more seamless for customers. First, Action Flows can now be created directly from the Orchestration Engine, letting organizations drive new task automations right from within their orchestrations.

STEFAN: Second, orchestrations are now instantly usable by Action Flows within the same Studio package. This centralizes automation and orchestration management for a better experience. As you can tell, we’ve been busy these past few months bringing a variety of innovations to the Celonis platform.

MOHAMED: And our ecosystem is growing the Celonis Marketplace with a new wave of partner-built apps that help customers build the next generation of AI-driven, composable solutions.

STEFAN: Designed for specific industries and business functions, these apps combine process visibility, AI-powered insights, and execution capabilities to help teams solve their most critical operational challenges.

MOHAMED: And the impact? It’s already showing up.

STEFAN: Take the new FSI Customer Service & Experience Manager from ProcessLab. It drove a 26% productivity boost, cutting team effort by 18% with AI-assisted routing.

MOHAMED: Or the Talent Acquisition Manager from ahron.ai. For a global logistics company, it’s expected to reduce time-to-hire by 30% and save €1 million in temporary labor costs.

STEFAN: Then there’s the Robotics System Intelligence Manager from LeafLabs, which helped increase ROI by 50% by giving teams clear, actionable insights into robotic throughput and performance.

MOHAMED: And this isn’t all. Other new apps to the Celonis Marketplace focus on improving mortgage origination, optimizing warehouse performance, and automating SOX and internal controls — all with end-to-end process visibility.

STEFAN: This brings us to the end of the first Celonis:NOW. I hope you’re as excited to make the most of these features as we were making them. Most importantly: it’s for you to build your future enterprise on.

MOHAMED: Many of the updates we’ve talked about today — like zero-copy delta sharing, Data Modeling & Transformation assistants, and AI-recommended metrics in Studio — can be activated by your Admin today. Talk to your Celonis team to learn more.

STEFAN: And come find me and Mo at our upcoming Product forums in Summer - in a city near you. Then you can tell us IRL what you’ve loved using, and what you’re looking forward to next.

MOHAMED: For now, we want to say a big thank you from all of us at Celonis for joining us. Until next time!
