Certification Tracks for Students

Process mining training gets easier in 2023 with new Celonis Academy offerings

Process mining is a popular skill with employers, and Celonis Academy is giving students, job seekers and those who want to expand their careers more tools to learn them in 2023.

“Process Mining is one of the fastest-growing job markets in the data science industry and the demand for skilled talent is higher than ever before,” said Jerome Geyer-Klingeberg, global head of Academic Alliance for Celonis.

Prof. Wil van der Aalst, Celonis Chief Scientist, said process mining was one of the top skills to learn in 2022. “Process mining is becoming the new normal in larger organizations,” he told Mary Jo Foley on the Petri's MJFChat podcast.

Analysts are also bullish on the process mining market. In early 2022, Polaris Market Research predicted that the process mining market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 49% with forecasted revenue of $11 billion in 2030

Whether you’re a software engineer with a passion for process optimization or a business professional who loves data, there’s never been a better time to start a process mining career and there’s no better place than Celonis Academy.

As David Jeggle, Head of Celonis Academy, told me last year, "At the Celonis Academy, we commit to helping our customers, partners, academics, and public learners develop the skills needed to reach their professional goals with Celonis.”

What’s on the Celonis Academy roadmap for 2023?

In 2022, Celonis Academy rolled out over 30 new training courses, more than 100 microlearning courses, and nearly a dozen new exams. And they’re not slowing down in 2023. Here are just a few of the things the Academy team has planned for the this year:

  • Updated and new training courses: The world of process mining never stands still. For example, Celonis became the first vendor to fully embrace a new technology called object-centric process mining last year, with the release of Process Sphere™ and Business Miner™. To help learners keep their process mining skills sharp, Academy is continuously updating existing courses and adding new ones. In 2023, learners will see expanded offerings for the initial Process Sphere, Business Miner and Workforce Productivity courses. The Build Analyses, Action Flows and Build Knowledge Models and Views tracks will all get updates, along with many more.

  • New certification exams: Academy launched the first Celonis Certification Exams in January 2023 with the Data Analyst - Certification Exam. Later this year, the team will release an exam for data engineers, with more to follow.

  • More local language learning materials: In August 2022, Celonis Academy released local language support for dozens of courses, making them available in Japanese, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese, as well as the original English. That work will continue in 2023 with even more courses, training tracks and exams being made available in multiple languages.

  • Classroom training is back: After a hiatus due to Covid-19, Academy will once again offer live classroom training sessions. Customers and partners will be able to sign up for in-person, instructor-led training sessions in the US (New York City), Germany (Munich) and Japan (virtual).

  • Academy platform upgrades: Not only is Celonis Academy constantly improving its training material, they are also working to make the training platform better. This year the team has several improvements planned for the user experience and learner journey.
