At Oracle AI World 2026, the Celonis team addressed two of the highest priorities on executive agendas: IT modernization and Enterprise AI transformation.

These are twin steps on a single journey, transforming operations to capitalize on modern technology, while driving real ROI from AI-enhanced workflows.

Transitioning legacy systems to Oracle Fusion builds a strong cloud application foundation, while Enterprise AI delivers workforce performance. But migrating unmapped complexities into the cloud or layering AI onto broken workflows stalls value. Oracle and Celonis offer a smarter alternative.

As strategic partners, Celonis runs natively on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), providing the end-to-end process context needed to simplify and de-risk your path to Fusion. Once on Fusion, that same process context accelerates post-go-live stabilization, drives user adoption, and fuels your Oracle AI agents with real-time operational context—turning cloud migration into immediate, measurable business value.

At Oracle AI World, we showcased how Celonis and Oracle make this transformation a reality.

IT modernization and transformation: De-risked and accelerated

One of the key drivers of IT modernization is the need to move core systems and processes to a modern cloud-based, AI-enabled platform. Retaining (and maintaining) ageing, expensive on-premises application anchors enterprises to costly, increasingly outdated working practices. It also locks them out of AI-enabled productivity, performance and security gains.

Despite the benefits, making this vital leap is nonetheless a significant undertaking. It typically requires simplification of processes, reduced numbers of process customizations, and harmonization of data. In short, a forced rationalization of familiar, embedded (but not always documented) workflows, which can be a daunting prospect in addition to a hefty investment.

Through its close partnership with Celonis, Oracle gives customers an accelerated and more controlled way to move from on-premises applications to Oracle Fusion Cloud. The transition is not simply a technology migration – it’s an opportunity to rethink and reimagine how the business operates.

Celonis shows customers how their operations work today, where complexity and customizations exist, and where change and innovation can create value. By analyzing legacy environments, including E-Business Suite, JD Edward, PeopleSoft and non-Oracle systems, the Celonis Platform creates a digital twin of your operations (the Celonis Context Model), comparing your real-world process performance against Oracle Modern Best Practices. The intelligence from the twin can then be extended though a unified MCP (model context protocol) and agent layer, enabling organizations and their System Integrators to accelerate typically time-consuming workstreams such as design, validation and change management. This helps customers decide what to migrate, simplify, or standardize, while tracking adoption progress and value throughout the transition to Fusion.

Customer case in point: Large international organization

A large international organization used the Celonis Platform to accelerate exactly this type of modernization journey. Moving from a large, heavily-customized PeopleSoft environment to Oracle Fusion Cloud, it deployed Celonis across critical financial processes, establishing a baseline of legacy processes. The purpose-built solution not only provided a detailed understanding of current process performance, but also extended into their complex database layer to provide complete transparency into areas of custom codes and extensions. Celonis then enabled new ERP processes to be compared with the old and untracked KPIs to measure progress.

By using the Celonis platform to support the transition to Fusion, the organization estimates it has saved around 8,000 hours in pre-migration work alone. It is extending their use of Celonis into other critical areas integrated with Oracle, accelerating the adoption of AI where it matters most.

Enabling Enterprise AI

Moving from siloed, assisted AI use cases to true Enterprise AI across core business functions has the capacity to create transformational value. This is where the over-hyped but underdelivered Return on AI (RoAI) is to be found. But many businesses still struggle to reach this level of AI industrialization, typically for two main reasons:

  1. They lack the visibility or understanding of where AI will deliver the most value – meaning they don’t know where to start or to invest to scale AI effectively.
  2. They cannot provide AI the operational context it needs to work effectively, leaving AI agents with operational blind spots and limiting their ability to make reliable decisions aligned to business objectives.

The strategic partnership between Oracle and Celonis addresses both of these challenges, providing an Enterprise AI springboard for joint customers, hosted natively in OCI. Oracle’s enterprise applications, cloud infrastructure, and AI platform are enabled and informed by a Celonis business context layer. Through the digital twin of enterprise operations, the Celonis Platform enables business leaders to pinpoint how and where AI will have the greatest impact, even quantifying AI’s potential value generation.

At the same time, the Celonis Platform generates the real-time operational intelligence needed to ground Oracle AI agents and more complex Fusion Claw-powered Agentic Applications in cross-system process context and alignment with overall strategic objectives. In this way Celonis provides the “common language” of business operations so Al can reason accurately and act effectively within real-world processes.

Customer case in point: Global leader in electrification

A leader in electrification is using the Celonis Platform to accelerate the use of AI across its global operations to improve efficiency, strengthen supply chain resilience, and support the delivery of critical infrastructure. Designed to meet global demand for power distribution, this collaboration embeds Celonis directly into business-critical operations and global supply chains. Team members can use AI agents powered by Celonis operational intelligence to anticipate supply disruptions, identify production-critical materials at risk of delay and recommend actions to protect production continuity.

Outcomes beat potential

In the current technological climate, with innovation in the AI space rewriting what’s possible almost daily, it’s hard not to get caught up in the buzz of “what’s new and what’s next?” AI’s transformative potential will always draw a crowd, but it doesn’t pay the bills. At Oracle AI World, however, delegates heard a lot more about delivered business outcomes – tangible RoAI today, not just the prospect of benefits tomorrow.

That’s what characterizes the Oracle-Celonis partnership, generating and activating the value insights to fuel enterprise IT modernization and accelerate AI-driven optimizations in core business operations. With this in mind, Celonis will be launching three new purpose-built solutions for Oracle modernization at the event all built on top of the Context Model:

  • Oracle Value Discovery: Rapidly captures and benchmarks legacy ERP performance against Oracle Modern Best Practices and builds a quantified business case (in dollars or euros) for change to Oracle Fusion Cloud.
  • Oracle EBS-to-Fusion Navigator: De-risks and accelerates modernization by connecting Oracle EBS customizations to actual business impact so teams can make evidence-based ‘retire, replace, or replicate’ decisions ahead of an Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP migration.
  • Oracle Master Data Quality: Enables teams to fix the master data problems before migration and prevents bad data from reappearing after go-live, reducing risk, rework, and laying a foundation for AI in Fusion Cloud.
