Milan, Italy, March 25, 2024 - Celonis, the global leader in Process Mining, today announced the appointment of Andrea Carboni as Country Leader for Italy. This strategic move demonstrates Celonis’ commitment to further expansion in the Italian market and fostering a culture of process excellence across the region. Carboni joined Celonis in October 2021 and is based in the Celonis Milan office.

Celonis Italy has established a strong presence in the country as its process intelligence platform enables companies to realize rapid value, cash impact, improved customer satisfaction, and reduced carbon emissions.

With over 20 years of experience in IT and sales, Carboni has served in Sales Management roles within global organizations such as Salesforce and NTT and has consistently contributed to business growth within Italy.

“I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Andrea Carboni as Country Leader for Italy, as he has a proven track record of leading high-performing, value-creating teams,” said Philippe Mathieu, SVP EMEA and APAC at Celonis. “Having worked with him over the past year, I’ve witnessed firsthand his passion and commitment to the role. His extensive experience and proven track record in the IT field make him the ideal leader to drive our growth in Italy."

“When I started my journey at Celonis two years ago, I immediately understood the power of our platform,” said Carboni. “Our process intelligence, data and insights are market-leading, and I see great potential for our technology in Italy. As Country Leader, I look forward to bringing the value of process intelligence to customers of all industries across Italy to enable them to become better, faster and more sustainable.”

Celonis Academic Alliance: Educating the Italian Process Intelligence experts of tomorrow

Carboni will also spearhead Celonis’ efforts to develop process mining and process intelligence skills in the country by working with the Celonis Academic Alliance. Through this program, Celonis partners with leading universities, such as Bocconi University, Università degli Studi di Verona and La Sapienza University in Rome, to educate the next generation of process professionals, drive innovation through research and expand the process community globally. Italy is already a prominent hub for process mining research, demonstrated by the fact that the country hosted the past two editions of the International Conference for Process Mining (ICPM) in Bolzano (2022) and Rome (2023). The Celonis Academic Alliance currently supports 16 Italian universities in providing hands-on Process Mining education including prestigious names such as La Sapienza, Bocconi or Padua.

“The Celonis Academic Alliance offers tremendous opportunities for customers and partners in need of process mining talent,” said Carboni. “We act as a link between universities, customers and partners to support matchmaking initiatives for recruiting and campus visibility. By collaborating with key universities in Italy and extending our partnerships, we’re preparing the process mining workforce of tomorrow.”
