BERLIN, October 29, 2026 – Celonis, the Enterprise AI company that specializes in reinventing business operations, today announced the launch of Celonis for Law Enforcement and Security Services (LENS). This new solution on the Celonis Platform enables agencies to connect data sources to more effectively pursue criminal investigations and automate routine operations with AI. As an open, transparent, and traceable alternative to opaque AI systems, Celonis LENS will provide the operational intelligence to solve cases and the strict access controls to protect civil liberties.
"AI should not be a black box, especially when it comes to public safety," said Bastian Nominacher, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Celonis. "To better protect people, officers need to find the right connections in their data fast, and AI can help them do that. Citizens need to know their data is protected and only accessed within the law. Celonis LENS will deliver both, so agencies don't have to choose between effectiveness and speed and people's rights."
Celonis is working with the world's most complex organizations to connect data across thousands of systems. Celonis LENS will enable security agencies to put that technology and expertise to work for the public. It will combine data from across the systems agencies already use. Investigators will be able to search all available events and records in one unified model, so they can see who and what is connected and how events (calls, checks, reports, and arrests) unfolded. And importantly, customers can more easily comply with local regulations by logging all actions transparently.
With Celonis LENS, law enforcement and security services will gain:
- More time for investigations: Automated document review and data matching take manual paperwork off officers' desks. Case files, images, and videos are attached directly to the people and cases they belong to. But officers are always in control and confirm every suggestion the system makes.
- Better collaboration: Investigators can add new information, link records, and write case reports directly in Celonis LENS. These entries are available to authorized colleagues without manual data transfers, and investigations can be saved and shared.
- AI agents that support investigators: AI agents screen new material as it arrives and suggest new links to a case. Investigators can ask questions in plain language and agents act only within the user's permissions. Every decision stays with the investigator.
- Accountability from the start: Every search, view, and change is logged, supporting data protection and court review.
- European standards: Celonis LENS is built to German and European data protection standards. Each agency decides where it runs, including on self-managed infrastructure or sovereign clouds.
Openness and independence: Agencies choose their AI models and partners, extend the platform through open interfaces, and can run it with their own staff, so critical know-how stays in-house.
Celonis LENS will use the same industry-leading Celonis Platform capabilities used by 75% of DAX 40 companies and by government agencies in Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, and Spain. Using it on real, anonymized case data, German police departments have already demonstrated how Celonis LENS can speed up investigations and protect data privacy.
Celonis is presenting Celonis LENS today at the Celonis Public Sector Forum in Berlin. It will be available in Germany first, with other regions to follow. Learn more at Celonis for Defense & Security.
