The New State of Business Execution

Welcome to the new state of business execution.

From the start, Celonis has always been 100 percent committed to helping our customers solve their toughest business process and execution challenges. Ten years ago, that challenge was getting visibility and control over business-critical processes. Now, it’s evolving to even higher stakes.

I still remember like it was yesterday, a conversation with one of our first customers. They called me right after our team delivered our famous “spaghetti” process mining demo. They said that seeing the hard-cold reality of what was really happening with their processes (vs. what they thought was happening) would forever change their business. It was one of those rare ah-ha moments that could not be unseen.

And, since then, we are humbled that the collective investments from our global customers and partners has lifted Celonis into the dominant leadership position of the process mining category. This has been recognized in the press, industry awards, book research, and by analysts like Gartner, IDC, and Forrester.

The reports are nice, but that’s not what motivates us.

Tackling the number one capacity killer in business

We want to make all of our customers’ investments in process mining go to work to solve an even bigger business challenge. Now it’s time to team up and eliminate system complexity — the number one capacity killer in business.

So, why tackle this problem now? The primary inspiration came from our growing base of 1,000 global customers and partners.

For the last decade, we have helped our customers navigate through many waves of business challenges and opportunities.

We have helped our customers smooth out the process kinks on all of the on-premise, cloud, and custom application systems they use to run their business.

We helped our customers refactor their processes and procedures to digitally transform their businesses.

And recently, we have all collectively faced the challenges of Covid. Every single one of us has our own story about how Covid has impacted our lives, work and business.

And, it is humbling to see the global human effort to dig deep and keep moving forward through these unprecedented times. Helping our customers like Kimberly Clarke and Avnet help the world combat this global pandemic has been one of our highest honors.

This combination of factors is why we believe we are in our generation’s version of the industrial revolution. We literally see every business process and operational procedure being refactored to unlock capacity and improve business performance.

And, that’s why the time is now for the Celonis Execution Management System

It's time for real business breakthroughs

We believe that this new category of EMS technology, just like process mining, will create another ah-ha moment that can never be unseen. Over time, we believe it will be clear that all businesses must be run with an execution management system.

Here’s why. Every company, big and small, runs their core processes and operations through a complex mix of hundreds, sometimes thousands of individual systems. The complexity of this rigid and fragmented system environment traps execution capacity, which blocks improvements in business performance.

We launched the Celonis Execution Management System to solve this problem.

By leveraging our process mining core, the Celonis Execution Management System measures the execution capacity in business and identifies where it's trapped. The Celonis EMS draws data from underlying systems and then provides the best-in-class knowledge, actions, and automations to systematically remove these constraints.

In addition to the Celonis EMS, we also announced the acquisition of Integromat, a leader in the red-hot online automation industry. We knew that Integromat had to be our first execution management system acquisition to deepen the automation capabilities of the Celonis EMS.

You have to see it to believe how Integromat can allow anybody in business to create easy, clean automations with the hundreds of systems that people use in their jobs everyday. This empowers all of our customers with another way to unlock the full execution capacity of their business.

We invite all of our customers and partners to join us on this next phase of our journey.
