Celonaut Anja Sager joined #TeamCelonis in January of 2020 as a Technical Training Manager and has progressed into her current role of Senior Technical Training Manager.
Anja takes us through what makes Celonis special for her, what is unique about the Celonis Academy, and which of the Celonis Values matter most to her and why!
From day one, I felt the spirit of ownership. Taking on full responsibility for projects from start to finish helped me grow enormously during my first year at Celonis. I always feel trusted, heard, and encouraged to bring in new ideas – and this is not limited to what’s written in my job description. With my communication and marketing background, I intensified internal collaboration to broaden the scope and reach more customers, partners, and the public with our Celonis training.
I had always hoped to find a job where my effort incites purpose and produces something worthwhile. Through our learners' feedback, I get a front-row seat to my work's positive outcomes every day. And seeing people from over 165 countries worldwide enroll in a new course renews my energy and motivation to take on the next project. Therefore, I'm most proud of our community which is 60,000 learners strong and continuously growing!
At the Academy, we work together with Celonauts from across the organization to bring new training courses to life. This collaboration gives us deep insights and a profound understanding of the product and the customer journey. It is vital to our success since we need subject matter experts to share their expertise and provide input for new training courses. Afterward, it’s our time to make it shine by bringing all bits of information together and developing interactive training using media production, our authoring tool, and quizzes. Of course, this process ties up many resources, which is why the Academy is rapidly growing to ensure that we have training specialists for all areas of training, such as product training, partner training, internal enablement, certification exams, and more.
Developing new training is all about the right timing. We reach out to Product Managers early in the development cycle to be continuously informed about new releases or changes ahead. Since Celonis’ software is incredibly dynamic, we must react flexibly and adjust our training. To do so, communication is crucial and facilitates teamwork across departments. Thus, I highly appreciate the close-knit channels that we built up with our subject matter experts across the company. Moreover, a new training course is rarely a one- (wo)man show, but a joint team effort. Everyone on the Academy team brings strengths to the table that we all benefit from, be it in online training, instructor-led training, or customer service.

At the Academy, our learners are at the center of everything we do. If you are passionate about instructional design and find joy in creating inspiring content with a lasting impact, the Academy team will be a great fit. Knowing your way around authoring and design tools is helpful. Due to our dynamic environment, a hands-on and flexible nature, and openness to work closely with SMEs to demystify a variety of complex topics is vital. Of course, we are always looking for new colleagues who feel energized by working freely and on a team.
