What makes working at Celonis special for you?

Working at Celonis is a never-ending learning journey enabling fast personal and professional growth. Being surrounded by so many smart, ambitious and passionate colleagues is really energizing and helps to overcome each challenge.

What advice would you give to women who are just starting their career?

Never say โ€œnoโ€ to a career opportunity because you think you cannot do the job. Start it and then learn how to do it. Also, take care of your network and search for mentors you can learn from and ask for advice.

Which key qualifications should applicants have to join your department?

A partner manager should have the strength to excite, inspire and influence others, connect between many different stakeholders and not shy away from negotiations. A partner manager must form longstanding, successful and trustful relationships internally and externally, which can weather storms along the way. And finally, a partner manager should be persistent and needs good stamina โ€“ an ecosystem is built for the long-term success.

What challenges do you face every day and how do you deal with them?

The two major challenges are limited time and diverging interests. I cannot remember a single day at Celonis when I felt bored. There is always so much to discuss, plan, improve and execute and always too little capacity to handle everything at the same time. The solution I am applying is empowering my team to take on more tasks individually and to prioritize as good as possible (not saying this always works ๐Ÿ˜‰).

The second major challenge is that the interests of our partners and the interests of Celonis are not always perfectly aligned. Key is that trust and transparency is at the core of a partnership and we are always solution-and future-oriented. Like this we can master each difficult situation.

Describe your team at Celonis in three words.

Ambitious, cooperative, energetic.

What does a typical day at Celonis look like for you?

A typical day is packed with meetings, internally and externally. These could be Quarterly Business Reviews with partners or regular check-ins. Part of the day are also one-on-one meetings with my team leads and Strategic Alliance Managers to check in on the progress in partner pipeline, to review the partner influenced opportunities of the ongoing quarter and to align on current developments with our Alliances. Thereafter could be an internal alignment with Partner Marketing, Partner Delivery, Partner Operations or the other Ecosystem groups to discuss current initiatives and projects. And if it is a good day, I can squeeze in a coffee chat with another colleague.

Karina, Vice President Partner Management EMEA, joined Celonis in July 2016 after finishing her studies in International Cultural & Business Studies (B.A.) and Business Administration (M.Sc.). She gained previous working experiences during internships at Sixt (Corporate Development) and BMW Financial Services (Program Management).
