A Day in the Life of a Celonaut: Maren Mellen, Value Engineer

With an exciting background in Sales, Marketing and Consulting, Maren Mellen joined Celonis in July 2022. She brings data analysis expertise alongside her innovative spirit to help realize millions of dollars for her clients as a Value Engineer.

Working remotely from Boston, Massachusetts, she shows us how she stays active, her favorite local spots, and what a day in our Life Sciences team looks like.

How do you start your day?

“I like to start my day with some Yoga at 7 am. My favorite studio, B/SPOKE, is located in South Boston, about an 8-minute walk from where I live. Dunkin’ Donuts is a staple of the Boston and New England area and I stopped by after my class. After that, I got home, made myself some breakfast, and got ready to start my day.”

Maren works remotely and uses it to her advantage with a healthy morning routine. Most of our employees work a hybrid schedule to take advantage of our comfortable offices and regular social events, whilst being able to work from home to save time, reduce stress, and stay active. 

What does your typical working day look like?

“I usually start by thinking about what opportunities I’m working on, what customers I’m working with to identify and realize value for.“

Our Value Engineering team sits within the Go-To-Market organization, and owns the end-to-end Customer Value Lifecycle, from sales through value realization, renewal and expansion.

“Today, I’m looking at demos. I’m in the Life Sciences team, so we work primarily with customers across the Life Sciences industry.”

Before joining Celonis as a Value Engineer, Maren spent time at a technology consulting firm partnering closely with Life Sciences companies. Her consulting experience has helped her become an industry expert and realize huge value for our Healthcare & Life Sciences customers. 

What do you do after work?

“After I wrapped up work, I headed back out for a walk in the snow!”
