A Day in the Life of a Celonaut: Sophie Futschik, Software Engineer

It’s not often you get to meet the people behind the code.

From developing new features to mastering new skills, Sophie takes us through a routine day for her as a Software Engineer at Celonis.

How do you start your day?

“In the morning, I like to walk to the office. To start my workday, I always have a meeting with my colleagues to discuss our tasks.”

Sophie is based in our Munich office in the heart of Maxvorstadt, a vibrant and lively district. The office boasts a gym for Celonauts to use, a wide range of snacks and drinks, and a rooftop terrace to enjoy the weather and celebrate team events.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

“As part of the Machine Learning Infrastructure team, I am responsible for building the infrastructure and services to support machine learning applications. Today, I continued to work on a new feature and had a quick meeting before heading to lunch with my team. We went to a nearby restaurant to enjoy some pizza!”

Sophie and her team help design and implement new foundational technical components that will power the next generation of Celonis EMS and elevate the impact Celonis has on our customers.

“After lunch, I attended a training session which is a component of the engineering training program. This session is part of a series in which we learn cloud engineering tools.”

At Celonis, perfection isn’t the goal but continuous improvement. Whether it’s Celonis academy training, online certification courses, or expert-led mentoring sessions, we encourage and enable our engineers like Sophie to take their careers to the next level.

How did you spend your evening?

“After finishing work, I went to grab some food with my colleagues in the office. We had German dumplings on the menu!”

‘Thirsty Thursdays,’ a popular initiative in the Munich office is a time for all Celonauts to come together to relax, catch up with each other, and enjoy a free meal. The perfect way to end a hard day of work.
